Electric Vehicle DC Fast Charger
Electric vehicle DC fast chargers are powerful—capable of delivering 100 kilowatts or more. You’ll typically find them rated at 100 kW, 150 kW, or even 350 kW, but the maximum electric vehicle charging speed may fall somewhere between these numbers. Even the latest electric vehicles with large-capacity battery packs can reduce charging times.
For electric vehicles capable of accepting 100 kW or higher power, they can charge from 20% to 80% in just 20-30 minutes. And if your electric vehicle can only accept up to 50 kW of DC power, they can still use ultra-fast charging stations, as these smart chargers automatically adjust to the power your electric vehicle can handle. Equipped with a connection cable and using CCS or CHAdeMO connectors, just like standard fast chargers.
DC Fast Charger for Electric Vehicles
As a core solution for electric vehicle energy supply, DC fast charging technology significantly improves user experience through its high efficiency. Current mainstream equipment on the market has an output power range of 40-360kW, and models that comply with the GB/T 20234.3-2015 standard can achieve a charging efficiency of 20% to 80% SOC (State of Charge) in 30 minutes.
Modular design further enhances the adaptability of the equipment. Taking the RUIHUA 180 kW model as an example, its power modules support 45 kW unit expansion, with a maximum output of 180 kW, and feature multi-channel independent charging management capabilities, effectively improving infrastructure utilization rates.

Technical Implementation Mechanism Analysis
Unlike the AC-DC conversion process used in AC charging, the DC fast charging system adopts a direct power supply architecture, eliminating the need for an on-board charger (OBC) and improving energy conversion efficiency by approximately 7-12%. The charging process strictly follows the ISO 15118 protocol:
- Initialization phase completes Plug & Charge authentication
- The charging control unit obtains battery parameters in real time through the BMS (battery management system)
- Adopts a CC-CV (Constant Current-Constant Voltage) segmented control strategy
Achieves millisecond-level status monitoring via the CAN 2.0B bus, including:
- Cell voltage deviation (ΔV ≤ 50 mV)
- Temperature gradient (ΔT ≤ 5°C/min)
- Current fluctuation rate (≤ 3%) This mechanism ensures a charging safety compliance rate of ≥95% even on an 800V high-voltage platform.
From the freeway to the emergency scene
The Electric Vehicle DC Fast Charger is the fastest way to charge an electric vehicle and is usually located in a highway service area or close to a major highway. Depending on the model, it only takes 10-15 minutes to charge an electric vehicle to 80%, the power of the charger represents the maximum charging speed available, but as the battery nears full capacity, the vehicle will reduce the charging speed.
Therefore, the time required for charging to 80% is listed, after which the EV’s charging speed decreases significantly. This maximizes charging efficiency and helps protect the battery.

The RUIHUA 180kW, with its modular structure and three-vehicle simultaneous charging function, is widely used in high-speed service areas and urban transportation hubs; in addition, there is a portable 30kW fast-charging device, which, thanks to its lightweight design, has become an ideal choice for outdoor scenarios or emergency power replenishment. Diversified scenarios allow DC fast charging technology to be truly integrated into all aspects of electric mobility.
