Charging Time Calculation:
Charging time in hours = Battery capacity in amp hours / Charging current in amps
For example, if the battery has a capacity of 60 amp-hours, the charging time would be 60 amp-hours / 30 amps = 2 hours. However, the actual charging time may need to be increased by 10-20% due to efficiency losses during the charging process.
CHARGE EFFICIENCY: Taking into account the charging efficiency, if you calculate a 20% efficiency loss, for a 60 amp hour battery charged at 30 amps, the final estimated time would be 2 hours plus (20% of 2 hours), which would be 2.4 hours or approximately 2 hours and 24 minutes.
In summary, a 30 amp EV charger will provide a relatively fast charge, but the exact charge time will vary depending on the specifics of the battery and the many factors mentioned above.
